Downtown Grand Rapids Inc (DGRI) is proud to announce the hire of Jennie Schumacher as communications coordinator. Ms. Schumacher will work to execute the organization’s marketing and communications initiatives across a variety of platforms, including the DGRI website, print materials, social media, video and more.
Ms. Schumacher currently is completing her Bachelors of Arts at Grand Valley State University. Her immediate past work experience includes roles with Experience Grand Rapids, Local First and Brewery Vivant.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ms. Schumacher to our team,” said Chief Outcomes Officer Andy Guy. “Ms. Schumacher is a bright young talent who will play a critical role managing DGRI’s communication program, ensuring we consistently deliver good public information about DGRI initiatives and supporting the work of implementing the community’s GR Forward agenda.”
Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. is the organization responsible for city building and place-management in the urban core of Grand Rapids, one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Established in 2013, DGRI serves as the singular management entity for the combined operations of the Downtown Development Authority, the Downtown Improvement District and the Monroe North Tax Increment Finance Authority.
A Latina born and raised in Michigan, Ms. Schumacher brings the number of team members to 27 – 17 Downtown Ambassadors and 10 office staff – leading the DGRI operation. DGRI aspires to build an organizational leadership network and staff that reflects the diversity of Grand Rapids. Our staff now is composed as follows:
