Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI) seeks ideas for activities, events, installations, and activations for the 2022 World of Winter festival.

World of Winter is an annual winter ice festival that celebrates why we choose to live in Michigan - because ice and snow can be spectacular! Help us celebrate our four-season city and all the wonders of winter.

Last year, DGRI the festival attracted over 400,000 attendees to Downtown GR. World of Winter 2021 hosted 52 events, 20 art installations (75 participating artists), 109 ice sculptures, supported 16 grants and teamed up with 20 organizations all for 60 days of activation. For this effort, we were awarded the International Downtown Association (IDA) Pinnacle Award.

Some of these aforementioned attractions include ice sculpture exhibitions, ice-skating events, the Human Hungry Hungry Hippos Tournament on Ice, walking tours, a Silent Disco, a drag show, pop-up performances, and much more.
